In operation for over 10 years, Day Performance Hot Rods & Restoration was the brainchild of master technician and owner, Korey Day.
Korey’s love for cars began at an early age, helping his dad in the garage and traveling to car shows. After graduating from high school at the Lake of the Ozarks, Korey attended Linn State Technical College in Missouri where he obtained two automotive engineering degrees, specializing in automotive service engineering and auto body.
Korey hit the road in 1997 as a member of Randy Anderson’s fuel funny car team crew, and then on to Vern Moat’s alcohol funny car as co-crew chief – winning 10 divisional championships along the way. When the Andersons’ serviced their race cars in Texas between races, Korey fell in love with Dallas and eventually decided to open his own shop there in 1999. His true passion lies with restoration of street rods and classic cars, helping customers achieve their dream vehicle – whether it’s a full restoration/build, or just minor tweaks and touch-ups.
Korey lives in McKinney, Texas with his wife, Mary, and their 2-year-old daughter, Anabel.
